About Us...
Phelps County Anti-drug Committee
We are a county supported coalition representing the legal community, law
enforcement, education, health care, and drug abuse prevention. We all
provide our services on a volunteer basis, motivated by a strong desire to rid
our communities of dangerous drugs. Our projects are not funded by
taxpayers, but by government sales of property acquired through drug seizures by
the Phelps County Sheriff's Office, and cooperation of the Phelps County
Prosecuting Attorney.

History
We began our efforts in 2005 when several community leaders, led by the county
prosecutor, met to discuss the
growing problem of methamphetamine. Our first projects included a DVD
titled "The Misery of Meth", a companion resource CD, a T-shirt campaign for
area high schools, and a number of informational posters. A total of 1,500
copies of the DVD were produced and distributed from Oregon to Washington D.C.
The T-shirt campaign met with great success, with over 1,300 T-shirts
printed and given to students in area schools. We were encouraged
and grateful for the support of the students.
And, scores of posters were shared with schools, churches, and civic groups.

Future Goals
We are working on several projects to continue to raise the awareness of the
dangers of illicit drugs and their impact on our communities.
